Product-minded builder using AI

Product thinking. Fast AI-assisted execution.

I'm Olli Toivanen, a 17-year-old entrepreneur and student from Finland. I define the problem, design the interface and build working prototypes with Claude Code and Codex, then write the copy that explains why anyone should care.

What I bring to a team

I own the product side so the team can build the right thing.

On a team I take the work between the idea and the demo: who it's for, what the prototype must prove, how it looks and how we explain it.

  1. Define the problem and the user

Turn a broad challenge into one specific user, one painful moment and a problem statement the whole team agrees on before anyone writes code.

  2. Cut the idea down to a prototype

Decide what the demo has to prove within the time we have, and what can be simplified, mocked or left for later.

  3. Design the interface and user flow

Map the path from first screen to the moment the product clicks, then design clean screens that make that path obvious.

  4. Build and iterate with Claude Code and Codex

Turn the flow into a working prototype quickly, then keep refining the parts users actually see.

  5. Put the value into words

Write the one-line value proposition, the landing page copy and the marketing angle, so the product is easy to understand in seconds.

Selected work

Three projects, in depth

What each project was for, what I did myself, how it was built and where it stands today.

01Personal website

Status: Active

ollitoivanen.com (this site)

My personal brand home base: portfolio, blog, newsletter signup and a payment and download flow for a digital product, built with Next.js.

Screenshot of the ollitoivanen.com home page: a dark page with a Finnish headline, a newsletter button and a photo of Olli working on a laptop.
The home page on desktop (in Finnish).

Why it exists

A place I own where people from TikTok, potential collaborators and future customers can see what I do, join my email list and buy from me directly, without depending on a platform.

My role

Product owner, designer and AI-assisted builder. I decided the structure and content, wrote the copy, designed the dark Apple-inspired visual system and directed Claude Code and Codex through the implementation, reviewing and iterating on the interface in the browser.

How it's built

  • Next.js App Router with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, deployed on Vercel. Blog posts are typed data with draft, published and coming-soon states, rendered as static pages.
  • Newsletter signup: an API route validates the email, stores the subscriber with source and audience tags in a Redis key-value store and sends a welcome email through Resend.
  • Digital product flow: Stripe Checkout takes the payment, the success page confirms on the server that the session is paid, and only then issues a signed download link that expires in one hour. The PDF itself is not publicly hosted.

02AI software

Status: Paused

Viralix AI

An AI tool that writes scored TikTok hooks and short-video scripts in Finnish, built for Finnish short-form creators.

Screenshot of the Viralix landing page. Finnish headline: 10 scored TikTok hooks in Finnish, in seconds.
The live landing page (in Finnish): “10 scored TikTok hooks in Finnish, in seconds.”

Why it exists

The bet was that Finnish creators would pay for hooks and scripts that sound native and fit the platform, instead of English-first AI output translated into Finnish.

My role

I came up with the idea, chose the niche and positioning, designed the product flow and interface, and wrote the prompt rules that define what a good hook is. It was built first in Lovable and developed further with AI coding agents.

How it's built

  • The user picks a platform, a niche and a target audience. The tool returns ten hooks, each scored from 1 to 10 and categorised, and can expand a chosen hook into a full script with a hook, main content and call to action.
  • Generation runs in a Supabase Edge Function that calls Google's Gemini API and forces a structured response, so results render as clean cards instead of raw text.
  • React and TypeScript front end with Supabase sign-in, a creator dashboard, a saved library and free and paid plans.

03Reselling

Status: Winding down

Vinted reselling

Buying and reselling branded second-hand clothing on Vinted: my first business that made real money.

Screenshot of Olli's Vinted seller profile with a five-star rating, 182 reviews and an English bio about premium brands, quality checks, fast dispatch and bundle deals.

Why it exists

A simple way to learn selling with real buyers: find products people already want, price them right and handle the sales myself.

My role

I ran the whole operation on my own, from finding the products to packing and shipping the orders.

What the work involved

  • Sourcing and selection: finding branded pieces, such as Ralph Lauren, The North Face and Tommy Hilfiger, that would sell for clearly more than I paid.
  • Pricing: setting each price from the purchase cost and target margin, and using bundle discounts to sell several items at once.
  • Listings: photos and English-language descriptions for international buyers, with items checked for quality before listing.
  • Customer communication and delivery: answering questions, sending extra photos and measurements, and shipping orders quickly.

Other experiments

Smaller projects that taught me as much as the ones above.

  • Clasify

    Clothing brand · Discontinued

I built a minimalist premium clothing brand: the brand identity, a first product with an OEM manufacturer (navy zip hoodie, €79) and a Shopify store for pre-orders.

    Result: First launch, 0 orders

A basic product competes with second-hand branded clothing, so I need a buying signal before production.

  • Treeni Blueprint

    Digital product · Experiment ended

I built a 12-week training guide (PDF: programs, progression, nutrition and tracking) and a payment and delivery pipeline for it.

    Result: Demand not proven

I made the product before I had an audience to test demand with.

    See the guide(in Finnish)
  • Olli Sales Agent and automations

    Tools and demos · Discontinued

I built a sales tool and quote request demos for service businesses, such as a plumbing and HVAC demo.

Result: Hundreds of cold emails, 0 customers

Tools I work with

How I build

I define the problem, set the scope, design the user flow and interface, and write the specs. Claude Code and Codex generate most of the code. I direct the implementation, review the result in the browser and iterate until the product does what it should.

Use actively

The core of how I build right now.

  • Claude Code
  • Codex
  • GitHub
  • Next.js

Used in my projects

Technologies in the projects above. I know what each one does in the product and how the parts connect.

  • TypeScript
  • React
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Vercel
  • Stripe
  • Resend
  • Redis (Vercel KV)
  • Supabase
  • Gemini API
